The Guffey-based Southern Park County Fire Protection District fire auxiliary will be hosting an Ice Cream Social and Yard Sale on July 3-4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the fire station in Guffey.
Driveway address markers will also be on sale for $20 each for one side and $25 for two sides. The markers are green with four-inch reflective numbers and will make finding residences in emergency situations much easier for responding personnel, according to Major Joan LePage, head of ambulance operations for the district and just-past president of the auxiliary.
Anyone having any clean, lightly used articles to donate to the yard sale can bring them to the Guffey fire station on July 2 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., said LePage. There will also be firefighters around Guffey trying to "fill the boot" with donations.
The fire department auxiliary had a meeting June 2 and elected new officers: Dave Tilton, president; Barb Felton, vice-president; Judy Quick, treasurer; and Susan Geiger, secretary. Stepping down from the auxiliary this year are both Joan and Larry LePage, major and executive officer for the fire district. The auxiliary expressed appreciation for all their years of service.
